U.S. Soccer Plans Coaching Symposium For May 8-9 in Conjunction With U.S. WNT vs. Mexico  

CHICAGO (Wednesday, April 21, 2004) – The U.S. Soccer Coaching Education Department will be conducting a Coaching Symposium in Albuquerque, N.M, on May 8 & 9 in conjunction with the U.S. Women’s National Team match vs. Mexico on May 9.

As part of the symposium schedule, coaches are slated to attend a Women’s National Team training session directed by head coach April Heinrichs, in addition to watching the U.S. take on fellow CONCACAF Olympic Qualifier Mexico at 1 p.m. MT on May 9. The symposium will focus on U.S. preparation for the 2004 Olympics in Athens, and there will also be sessions including match analysis and player development.

The Coaching Symposium is offered for the broad base of youth, high school and college soccer coaches. Coaches who hold an “A” license will earn two Continuing Education Credits (CEU’s) toward keeping their license current. The cost of registration includes a ticket to the game on May 9 at University Stadium.

Tentative Schedule for May 8 – 9:
Saturday, May 8
9-10 a.m.  |  Registration/Check-in
10 -11:30 a.m.  |  Observe Training – U.S. Women’s National Team
11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m.  |  Lunch
1:30-3:30 p.m.    Observe a game for Match Analysis
4-5:30 p.m.  |  Classroom Session – Match Analysis
   
Sunday, May 9
9-10:15 a.m./10:30-11:45 a.m.  |  Field Sessions
12-1 p.m. | Lunch
1-3 p.m. | U.S. WNT vs. Mexico      

Fee Schedule
U.S. Coaches Organization Members  |  $65.00
Non-Members  |  $75.00

The registration form should be completed and returned via e-mail to coaches@ussoccer.org or faxed to the Coaching Education Department at 312-808-9708. Upon receiving a completed pre-registration via e-mail or fax you will receive confirmation. Payment can be completed by credit card (Visa, Master Card, American Express), or checks should be made out to U.S. Soccer and sent to U.S. Soccer Coaching Department, 1801 South Prairie Ave., Chicago, IL 60616.
