2008 Women's Nike Friendlies Kick Off Wednesday; Schedule Now Available
CARSON, Calif. (Aug. 21, 2008) – Perhaps inspired by watching the U.S. Women win the gold media earlier in the day, the U.S. Under-15 Girls’ National Team topped FC DELCO 5-0 to open the 2008 Women’s Nike Friendlies.

Midfielder Haley Rosen, who earlier in the day had done an interview live on Today in LA during the Olympic Final, put home the first goal of the game in the 34th minute after a free kick by Loeau LaBonta deflected off an FC DELCO defender.

In the second half, the U.S. was able to kick up the attack another notch, scoring goals in the 52nd, 57th, 86th and 88th minutes.

Cate Parkchinski scored the second U.S. goal after stealing the ball from a defender and bending her shot around the goalkeeper, and five minutes later Kaysie Clark fed Shea Groom, who took a touch before slotting the ball home.

With the game winding down, Olivia Schultz scored on an assist from Christina Murillo and Marie MacKenzie added the last goal with a stunning chip of the FC DELCO goalkeeper.
