A big, aggressive goalkeeper who commands the attention of opposing players when they enter into his area, Seitz earned his status as the top choice goalkeeper for the U-23s through hard work and leadership on the field. After a stellar performance at the 2007 U-20 World Cup, Seitz was rewarded with his first call up to the Men’s National Team in September for its game against Brazil at Soldier Field in Chicago.
• As the fourth overall draft pick by Real Salt Lake in the 2007 MLS SuperDraft, Seitz became the second-highest goalkeeper ever chosen, behind only Chivas USA’s Brad Guzan, who was drafted at No. 2 in 2005. • Earned Man of the Match honors for his performance against Poland at the 2007 FIFA Under-20 World Cup, inspiring the team to a key draw in its opening fixture against South Korea. • Started four of five games in Canada (missing the Round of 16 match with an injury), and helped the U.S. advance to the quarterfinals.
