U.S. Soccer Coaching Development

Registration Policy + Recommendations

It is recommended that candidates begin at the foundation of our coaching pathway to familiarize themselves with U.S. Soccer practices and methodology

  • Priority registration is provided to U.S. Soccer license holders
    • USSF “C” Course (U.S. Soccer “D” license holders for 12 months receive priority)
    • USSF “B” Course (U.S. Soccer “C” license holders for 12 months receive priority)
    • USSF “A” Course (must hold U.S. Soccer “B” license for 12 months)
  • Applicants holding a foreign license, diploma or an approved U.S. Soccer waiver may apply after a priority registration period for U.S. Soccer license holders
  • Applicants should be working with the following age-appropriate players on a regular basis. Applicants who are not working with below recommended age groups are encouraged to gain experience with the appropriate age group prior to starting the registration process
    • National “A” license: U18 +
    • National “B” license: U15-U18
    • National “C” license: U15-U18
  • Approved applicants are encouraged to run training sessions with age-appropriate players prior to the course. Working with or seeking a senior-level mentor (“A” license coach), to provide constructive feedback is also recommended
