U.S. Soccer and Nike are hosting an invitational youth futsal event from April 20-24 at The Home Depot Center in Carson, Calif., for U-13/14 teams (players born on or after Jan. 1, 1999) from the top clubs in the area. U.S. Soccer will provide a coaching symposium to prepare participants for the event and utilize the event to identify up-and-coming talent for future Training Center and National Team selections.
Competition
- All games will be played according to FIFA Futsal Laws of the Game
- 15-minute halves (running clock)
- Four groups of four teams
- Winner of each group advances to semifinals
Tentative Schedule
Friday, April 19:
- Orientation from 8-10 p.m.*
*All teams must send Head Coach, Team Manager and Team Captain to Orientation
Saturday, April 20
- First Group Game from 8 a.m.-2 p.m.
- Second Group Game from 3-6 p.m.
- LA Galaxy v. Sporting Kansas City at 7:30 p.m.
Sunday, April 21
- Second Group Game from 8 a.m.- 2 p.m.
- Third Group Game from 2-10 p.m.
Monday, April 22
- Make-up Games (as needed in the evening)
Tuesday, April 23
Semifinals from 6-10 p.m.
Wednesday, April 24
Finals from 6-10 p.m.
