About the Girls Camp

What is the U.S. Soccer Girls Camp?

The U.S. Soccer Girls Fantasy Camp is the most exclusive fan-player opportunity offered by U.S. Soccer. Led by U.S. Soccer staff and former Women’s National Team players, this fantasy camp provides young players with experiences and elite training that mirrors a National Team environment. Participants will also have the opportunity to observe a current National Team training and attend matches during the Group Stage of the Women’s World Cup tournament.

Where will the Girls Camp be held?

The Camp will be hosted in Winnipeg, Canada, where the U.S. Women’s National Team will play their first two Group Stage matches.

When will the Girls Camp be held?

The Camp will take place from Sunday, June 7 through Saturday, June 13, 2015.

Are there any skill-level requirements?

No. The Camp is being organized by U.S. Soccer to include players of any skill level.

What are the age requirements?

To participate in the 2015 U.S. Soccer Girls Fantasy Camp, a player must have been born in the years 2000, 2001 or 2002.

How does a player reserve a spot?

Space is limited in the Camp so we encourage you to reserve your place as soon as possible. To reserve a spot, U.S. Soccer requires a completed Camp Registration Form, as well as a deposit of 50% of the cost ($4,750). For more information, please contact vip@ussoccer.org or call 312-528-1220.

About your donation

What is the donation per player to participate?

Register before April 1, 2015 and receive an early registration discount. Participation in the Camp is made possible through a $9,500 donation for attendees who register prior to this date ($10,500 after April 1). This amount covers all camp costs, as well as a tax-deductible gift to support the growth of soccer in the United States. U.S. Soccer is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit and will formally recognize your gift for tax-purposes.

What costs are included?

The donation amount covers accommodations, all meals, MATCH tickets, in-country transportation, apparel and official excursions/entertainment.

Does the donation include airfare to Canada?

The Girls Fantasy Camp donation does not include airfare to/from Canada.

I have multiple players on my team / in my family interested in attending. Are there any group discounts?

Contact vip@ussoccer.org or 312-528-1220, to discuss your group.

How much of the donation is tax-deductible?

For a donation to be considered tax-deductible, no goods or services can be received in exchange for the donation. Naturally, the Girls Fantasy Camp comes with a unique range of opportunities, some of which do not qualify as tax-deductible (hotel room costs, apparel, etc.). U.S. Soccer will provide documentation after the event outlining what portion of your donation is considered tax deductible. Currently, U.S Soccer estimates that approximately 40% of your gift will be tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law.

Is there a payment plan or schedule?

The donation to participate may be divided into two separate payments. To reserve a place at the Camp, participants must provide a nonrefundable deposit, totaling 50% of the final cost. The full payment is due by April 1, 2015. Should you have any questions about this schedule, please contact vip@ussoccer.org.

How do I make my donations?

Checks can be made out to “U.S. Soccer Federation” and mailed to:
ATTN: Mary Teeter
Manager of Development
U.S. Soccer
1801 S. Prairie Avenue
Chicago, IL 60616

Can I pay with a credit card?

In order to maximize the impact of your gift, we kindly ask that participants pay by check. The fees associated with credit card payments cut significantly into the donation, thereby lessening the amount of tax-deductibility. All checks can be made directly to the U.S. Soccer Federation.

What is your cancellation policy?

For any participant who cancels before May 6th (one month before the opening of the Women’s World Cup), U.S. Soccer will refund 50% of the payment. For any cancellation after May 6th, U.S. Soccer will refund 25% of the payment in recognition of the costs related to reserving your player’s space. Should your participant need to cancel, all payments made will automatically be recognized as tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law.

Preparing for the Camp

Are participants required to have passports?

Canada requires U.S. citizens to present a valid U.S. passport to enter the country and travel in Canada for any purpose. Click here to begin the passport application process and to obtain more information from the U.S. Department of State.

What medical forms does the participant need to provide?

U.S. Soccer will provide participants with a range of medical forms based off of similar forms used for National Team camps. The forms are meant to ensure U.S. Soccer staff can best support the participants at camp.

What U.S. Soccer training gear will the participants receive?

Participants will receive an authentic U.S. Women’s National Team jersey ahead of Camp. Training gear will also be provided to participants on a daily basis during Camp. Players must bring their own cleats and footwear.

Will the participants need money while they are in Canada?

All meals and accommodations are covered while the participants are in Canada. However, participants are responsible for any incidental purchases, such as snacks or souvenirs.

Will the players have any scrimmages with local teams?

U.S. Soccer will organize at least one official scrimmage with a local team, or depending on camp attendance, an intra-squad scrimmage.

How many training days will the players have?

The Girls Fantasy Camp will include a minimum of five training days, most with multiple sessions.

At Camp

Will there be camp counselors, or people to look after the participants when they are not at training sessions?

Yes. U.S. Soccer staff and former Women’s National Team players will manage the participants while they are not at training.

Will the participants meet any of the current National Team players?

While participants will interact with former WNT players, meetings with current players (including autograph opportunities) are not an official part of camp. While there may be some informal opportunities to interact with the team during the Girls Fantasy Camp, please know that U.S. Soccer does not guarantee any meetings or autographs.
