“A” Licensed Coaches Earn Two CEUs for Participating;
Coaches will Attend a U.S. MNT Training Session and the Match on June 4 against Spain
CHICAGO (April 19, 2011) – U.S. Soccer’s Coaching Education Department will host a Coaching Symposium on June 3-4 in conjunction with the U.S. Men’s National Team’s match against 2010 FIFA World Cup Champion Spain in Foxborough, Mass.
The U.S. Men’s National Team will face Spain on June 4 at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Mass. Kickoff against the No. 1-ranked team in the world and defending European Champion is set for 4:30 p.m. ET, and the match will be broadcast live on ESPN and Univision. Fans can also follow the match live on ussoccer.com’s MatchTracker and on Twitter @ussoccer.
Registration for the symposium includes two days of educational presentations and discussions, an opportunity to observe U.S. MNT training session, a match ticket, a pre-game reception and a U.S. Soccer CoachesNet scouting and training notebook. Cost for the symposium is $240 for active U.S. Soccer CoachesNet members and $250 for non-members. Registration is open to all coaches.
The high-profile friendly takes place three days before the U.S. begins group play in the 2011 CONCACAF Gold Cup, where they join Group C of the 2011 CONCACAF Gold Cup along with Canada, Panama and Guadeloupe.
“This is an exciting time for U.S. Soccer as the No. 1 team in the world visits the Boston area,” said U.S. Soccer Director of Coaching Education Dave Chesler, who will oversee the symposium. “This symposium will give coaches a unique opportunity to examine the USA’s final preparations prior to a major international competition.”

U.S. Soccer “A” licensed coaches will earn two “Continuing Education Units” for attending this symposium and completing a written technical component related to this match.
