Club: Charlotte Soccer Academy
Charlotte Soccer Academy forward Asa Kryst continued his scoring ways this past week with a hat track against AFC Lightning and the lone goal against Concorde Fire. The second-year veteran’s tally of seven goals in seven games earns him the third highest goals per game average in the U-15/16 Academy age group this season. Charlotte Soccer Academy will look to continue their run of strong performances during the month of January when they play host to the Richmond Kickers and Richmond Strikers to close out their Academy schedule this month.
U-17/18: Chris Duvall
Club: Concorde Fire
Chris Duvall is the third Concorde Fire player this season to be named the U-17/18 Academy Player of the Week, providing the team a strong presence in the midfield linking the defense with the front line. The Fire held North Meck Soccer Club and Charlotte Soccer Academy to just one goal this past weekend, building on their strong defensive performances in 2009-10, in which they have held divisional opponents to 14 goals in 13 games this season. The two wins last weekend added to the Fire’s impressive run to the top of the division with an average of 2.46 points per game. With only a handful of remaining matches on the schedule, Concorde Fire will be looking at the crucial divisional clashes this coming weekend against Atlanta Fire United and Birmingham United to close out the season strongly.
