Guido Gonzalez has been selected as the Development Academy Referee of the Week for his outstanding performance on April 18 in a match between East Conference opponents South Central Premier and PDA.
Guido began his refereeing career in 1995, working in various states in the Northeast. Five years ago, he attained his national referee status. Since, he has officiated over 40 Development Academy matches and has made appearances at the 2008 Spring Showcase in Lancaster, Calif.; the 2009 Spring Showcase in Sarasota, Fla.; 2009 Playoffs in Greensboro, N.C., and 2009 Winter Showcase in Phoenix, Ariz. In addition, Guido has officiated international friendlies and matches in the USL, PDL, and W-League.
