SECOND GROUP GAMES FOR U-15/16s COMPLETE: Each of the eight teams in the Under-15/16 division of the 2011 Development Academy Finals Week now has two games under their belt and a clear picture of what they need to accomplish in their third match. LA Galaxy is on top Group 1 after a convincing 4-0 win against the Dallas Texans. The Seattle Sounders are level points but are behind on goal differential. PA Classics is tied for the lead with North Carolina Fusion after drawing Real Salt Lake AZ. The Fusion earned their place at the top spot after defeating CASL Chelsea FC Academy. The U-15/16 division will round out group play on July 14, the featured match pitting the two group leaders in a bout that can guarantee a team a place in the championship match if either emerges with a win.
LA GALAXY ROUTS DALLAS TEXANS: The LA Galaxy played their way into the driver’s seat of Group 1 with a convincing 4-0 win against Dallas Texans. The LA Galaxy faces West Conference foe Seattle Sounders in the third group game needing only a win or a draw to secure a berth in the title match.
SOUNDERS TAKE THE WIN: Goals from Austin Sweeney and Ian Lange negated a Real So Cal lead and lifted Seattle Sounders FC to a 2-1 victory. Seattle is even with the LA Galaxy at the summit of Group 1 on four points, but sit in second place because they are three behind in goal differential. The top teams will square off July 14 at 3 p.m. CT with a spot in the championship game on the line, the Sounders needing a victory in order to have a chance to play for the national title.

FUSION TAKES THREE POINTS AGAINST CASL: North Carolina Fusion defeated Atlantic division rival CASL Chelsea FC Academy 1-0 thanks to Warren Marshall’s lone goal in the 66th minute.
