U.S. Under-14 Boys National Team to Participate in 2011 Thanksgiving Interregional


CHICAGO (Nov. 17, 2011) – The U.S. Under-14 Boys National Team will hold a domestic training camp as part of the 2011 Thanksgiving Interregional from Nov. 23-28 in Chula Vista, Calif.

The event is composed of the U-14 BNT players born in in 1998 and all four United States Youth Soccer regions born in 1997 and 1998. The U.S. will bring a total of 36 players to the camp and will split the roster into two teams.

The U.S. will play six games over three match days on Nov. 25, 26 and 27. Each of the U.S. Under-14 split squads will play one game per match day.

Both the camp and the games will be held at the Olympic Training Center in Chula Vista, Calif. U.S. Youth Soccer in conjunction with the Olympic Development Program organizes this event every year, with U.S. Soccer planning the training camp around the Thanksgiving Interregional.

The U.S. teams will play against Region 3 and Region 1 at 3 p.m. PT on Nov. 25. The next day, the U-14s will face Region 2 at 1 p.m. and Region 4 at 3 p.m. On Nov. 27, the U.S. will meet Regions 3 and 1 again at 1 p.m. and 3 p.m.

The U-14 BNT was created to introduce young players to the national teams and a level of soccer they would otherwise not see at such a young age.
