U.S. U-20 MNT to Face U-20 Portugal on Friday, June 14, at Vila Real Santo Antonio, Portugal

CHICAGO (June 10, 2013) – The U.S. Under-20 Men’s National Team, which is currently training in Lagos, Portugal, in preparation for the 2013 FIFA U-20 World Cup, will have a good tune-up game lined up heading into the tournament.
The USA faces host Portugal’s U-20 squad on June 14 at Municipal Stadium in Vila Real Santo Antonio. The game kicks off at 5 p.m. local time (noon ET).
Portugal qualified for the U-20 World Cup as one of six teams to advance by virtue of the 2012 UEFA European U-19 Football Championship.
The U.S. plays its first Group A match of the FIFA U-20 World Cup against Spain on June 21 at Ali Sami Yen Arena in Istanbul, also the host site of the tournament’s final and third-place matches. The opener kicks off at 9 p.m. local (2 p.m. ET) and will be broadcast live on ESPN2, WatchESPN and Univision Deportes. The USA then takes on France at 11 a.m. ET on June 24 (ESPN2, WatchESPN and Univision Deportes) in Istanbul, followed by a June 27 game against Ghana at 1 p.m. ET at Kadir Has Stadium in Kayseri (ESPNU and WatchESPN).
The U-20 World Cup features 24 teams, with four teams playing among six groups.
