U.S. U-23 WNT Defeats Oregon State 1-0 on Penalty by Danielle Foxhaven

CORVALLIS, Oregon (April 22, 2010) – The U.S. Under-23 Women’s National Team defeated Oregon State University in a scrappy game that was the first match during a week-long training camp taking place in the northwest. The USA’s only goal came in the 69th minute as the University of Portland’s Danielle Foxhoven converted a penalty kick after a Beaver had been called for a handball in the penalty box. Foxhoven, who came into the match at halftime, scored 24 goals last season for the Pilots and will get the chance to face her collegiate teammates later in the week as the U.S. U-23s face the University of Portland in Portland.
