CHICAGO (Sept. 8, 2010) – U.S. Soccer’s Coaching Education Department will conduct a Coaching Symposium in the Atlanta area on Sept. 29 and Oct. 1 in conjunction with the U.S. Women’s National Team game against China on Oct. 2 at Kennesaw State University Soccer Stadium in Kennesaw, Ga. The theme for the two-day event will be focused around “National Team Level Training.”

On Sept. 29, coaches will attend a U.S. Soccer Training Center, which is a training session in conjunction with local clubs and state associations to identify players with youth national team potential. The Training Center will be held at Pinckneyville Park in Norcross, Ga., and led by U.S. Soccer Technical Advisor Juan Carlos Michia. Michia has served as an Assistant Coach for many Men’s Youth National Teams since 1998.

On Oct. 1, coaches will attend the U.S. WNT training session at Kennesaw State University (KSU) Soccer Stadium in advance of the team’s match against China on Oct. 2 at 6 p.m. ET. Additionally, members of the WNT coaching staff will speak to the group before and after training.

Cost for the symposium is $50 for active U.S. Soccer CoachesNet members and $60 for non-members. Registration is open to all coaches. Space is limited and interested coaches are encouraged to register early.
