CHICAGO (Saturday, April 29, 2000) - The U.S. Under-17 Men's National Team lost to Scotland in penalty kicks, despite out-shooting Scotland 14 to one, to finish sixth at the week long Ballymena Tournament in Northern Ireland last week, April 23-29. The tournament featured 12 teams from around the world with each team being placed in one of three groups. The USA beat N. Ireland (1-0) and Holland (3-0) but fell to Austria (0-3) to finish tied with N. Ireland in second place in group play. The U.S. then beat England before rounding out the tournament against Scotland. The U.S. U-17s were led by Ed Johnson (Palm Coast, Fla.) who finished the tournament with four goals.
