U-17s Continue Winning Streak with 3-2 Victory over Haiti

LAUDERDALE (Saturday, April 28, 2001) - The U.S. U-17 Men's National Team took on Haiti on Saturday as the second part of a doubleheader with the Miami Fusion, and the U.S. increased their record winning streak to nine games with a 3-2 win at Lockhart Stadium in Ft. Lauderdale, Fla. U.S. forward Ed Johnson continued his torrid scoring pace with a pair of goals, including the second-half gamewinner. Johnson has now scored 21 international goals in 19 appearances, including 14 goals in the last eight U.S. internationals. Justin Mapp scored the first goal for the U.S. and assisted on Johnson's 52nd minute winner. Paul Johnson replaced Santino Quaranta in the starting line-up, as Quaranta is currently training with D.C. United. The U.S. has now run off a nine-game winning streak, dating back to a June 9, 2000, a 3-1 win against Germany.
