The U.S. Under-17 Men’s National Team rounded out their trip to La Serena, Chile, with an undefeated 3-0-1 record against South American sides, taking home the championship of the La Serena Cup.

The U.S. Under-17 Men’s National Team rounded out their trip to La Serena, Chile, with an undefeated 3-0-1 record against South American sides, taking home the championship of the La Serena Cup. The U.S. recorded a 2-0 win over Chile in their opening game on Feb. 1, a 1-0 victory against Peru on Feb. 3 and a 1-1 draw against Ecuador to round out group play.
Set for a rematch with Ecuador in the final on Saturday, Feb. 7, the U.S. prevailed 2-1 to take the Cup title. Leading the way for the Americans in Chile, Jack McInerney scored three goals in the four games. Earl Edwards started three games in goal, allowing just one goal against, a penalty against Ecuador in the final, in 270 minutes.
