U-17 MNT Head Coach Richie Williams Calls In Additional Player for Argentina Trip
U.S. Under-17 Men's National Team head coach Richie Williams has added midfielder Joel Sonora to the team's roster for a trip to South America. The Boca Juniors midfielder is expected to join the team prior to its international friendly against Uruguay on Oct. 21.

CHICAGO (Oct. 20, 2012) – U.S. Under-17 Men’s National Team head coach Richie Williams has added Argentinean-American Joel Soñora to the team’s roster for its trip to South America from Oct. 21-27.
Soñora currently plays for Boca Juniors in Buenos Aires and is expected to join the team for its international friendly against Uruguay on Sunday, Oct. 21, and will remain with the team for the duration of the trip.
His father, Diego, made more than 200 appearances for Boca Juniors between 1988 and 1995 before heading to the U.S. to play for Major League Soccer in the league’s inaugural season in 1996. The elder Soñora played for the Dallas Burn (FC Dallas), New York/New Jersey MetroStars and D.C. United during his career in America, winning the 1999 MLS Cup with D.C. United.
Joel, a midfielder, was born on Sept. 15, 1996 in Dallas while his father played for the MLS club.
