Sales for U.S. Women vs. Mexico in Charleston, S.C., at Capacity; 500 Standing Room Tickets Added for January 12 Clash
CHICAGO (Wednesday, December 19, 2001) - Less than 100 seats remain for the U.S. Women's National Team’s match against regional rival Mexico on Saturday, January 12 at Blackbaud Stadium in Charleston, South Carolina. As a result of the high demand, U.S. Soccer will make an additional 500 standing-room tickets available to the public starting immediately.

CHICAGO (Wednesday, December 19, 2001) - Less than 100 seats remain for the U.S. Women's National Team’s match against regional rival Mexico on Saturday, January 12 at Blackbaud Stadium in Charleston, South Carolina. As a result of the high demand, U.S. Soccer will make an additional 500 standing-room tickets available to the public starting immediately. The match, presented by Nike, will kick off at 7 p.m. ET and will be broadcast live on ESPN2.
One of the most talent-laded U.S. rosters in years will come into Charleston on January 8 as 24 players will compete for 18 spots on the game-day roster to face Mexico, as well as the roster that will travel to China to compete in the Four Nations Women’s Tournament against Norway, Germany and China in Guangzhou from January 23-27, 2002.
Throughout their history, the U.S. women have played matches in 25 states and Washington, D.C., but this will mark the first-ever match in South Carolina. The picturesque Blackbaud Stadium, which opened in the spring of 1999, is the home of the Charleston Battery of the A-League and has a seating capacity 5,113. U.S. Soccer will not be adding any additional bleacher seats to due space limitations.
