More Than 10,000 Tickets Sold for USA-Australia on Oct. 20 at Alamodome in San Antonio
U.S. Women Playing in San Antonio for First Time in 17 Years

CHICAGO (Sept. 20, 2013) – On the first day of public sale, more than 10,000 tickets have already been sold for the U.S. Women’s National Team match against Australia on Sunday, Oct. 20, at the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas. The game will be broadcast live on NBC at 12:30 p.m. CT, and fans can follow along on ussoccer.com’s MatchTracker and on Twitter at ussoccer_wnt.
The match will be the 10th game in U.S. Women’s National Team history to be played indoors. The USA is 9-0-0 under a roof, playing its first match indoors at the Pontiac Silverdome in Detroit, Mich., in 1993.
The state of Texas has been kind to the U.S. Women of late with a match at FC Dallas Stadium in Frisco, Texas, drawing 20,677 in February of 2012 to see a 2-1 victory against New Zealand. Another 15,643 came to BBVA Compass Stadium in Houston on Dec. 12, 2012, to watch the USA defeat China 4-0.
The record for a U.S. WNT match in the state of Texas was set on Nov. 2, 2003, in a match against Mexico at the Cotton Bowl in Dallas that drew 23,176 to watch the USA’s 3-1 victory.
Tickets for USA-Australia, which will be the first meeting for U.S. head coach Tom Sermanni against his former team, are on sale through ussoccer.com, by phone at 1-800-745-3000 and at all Ticketmaster ticket centers throughout San Antonio (including many HEB and Walmart locations), as well as the Alamodome ticket office (open Monday-Friday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.).
