U-18 WNT Heads to Week of Camp at U.S. Soccer NTC

CHICAGO (Oct. 10, 2014) – The U.S. Under-18 Women’s National Team will come together from Oct. 18-25 at the U.S. Soccer National Training Center in Carson, California, for a training camp featuring 24 players.

This is the second training camp for this age group as U-18s as the previous group has moved up to integrate into the U-20 Women’s National Team.

The core of the current U-18 WNT squad is comprised of players who will eventually compete to qualify for the 2018 FIFA Under-20 Women’s World Cup. This age group will have another training camp this December.

U.S. Soccer Women’s Technical Director April Heinrichs will oversee this training camp and the squad will scrimmage NWSL side Beach FC on Friday, Oct. 24, at 7 p.m. PT.

New U-18 WNT Heads to U.S. Soccer's NTC for Camp

CHICAGO (Sept. 8, 2014) – The U.S. Under-18 Women’s National Team will come together from Sept. 13-20 at the U.S. Soccer National Training Center in Carson, California, for a training camp featuring 23 players born in 1998 and one in 1999.

This is the start of a new cycle as the previous U-18s now move on to the next U-20 Women’s World Cup cycle, the first camp of which will be held in October.

The core of this U-18 WNT squad will be the players eventually competing to qualify for the 2018 FIFA Under-20 Women’s World Cup. This age group will have three training camps this fall, in September, October and December.

Midfielder Mallory Pugh, who started for the USA at the recently completed 2014 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup in Canada, was called in for this U-18 event. U.S. Soccer Women’s Technical Director April Heinrichs will oversee the training camp.

Please note that several roster changes were made after the initial announcement on Sept. 8.
