U-17 '90s Defeat Communicaciones

GUATEMALA CITY, Guatemala (March 16, 2007) - The U.S. Under-17 '90 Men's National Team go a goal and an assist from Eder Arreola as they defeated the Comunicaciones Reserves, 3-0, in their final match of a 10-day trip to Honduras and Guatemala.

Arreola assisted on the USA's first goal, finding Billy Schuler who finished past the Comunicaciones 'keeper in the 10th minute.

Arreola put away his own shot unassisted in the 31st minute.

The final goal came from Chris Klute in the 53rd minute as he finished off a pass from Brandon Zimmerman.

U-17 MNT Draw With Municipal

GUATEMALA CITY, Guatemala (March 14, 2007) - The U.S. Under-17 '90 Men's National Team drew, 2-2, with the Municipal Reserves this afternoon in Guatemala City, Guatemala.

The U.S. fell behind when Manuel Leon gave Municipal the lead in the 30th minute.

Mykell Bates scored the equalizer when he finished a pass from Brek Shea seven minutes later. The U.S. then took the lead just four minutes after halftime as Alex Nimo fed Billy Schuler and the forward finished past the Municipal 'keeper.

The U.S. only held the lead for a short time as Diego Chicas pulled Municipal even in the 56th minute.

The U.S. will next face Communicaciones Reserves on March 16.

U-17 MNT Draw Honduras

TEGUCIGALPA, Honduras (March 12, 2007) - The U.S. Under-17 '90 Men's National Team and Honduras battled to a scoreless draw in their second match in three days in Tegucigalpa, Honduras.

It appeared the U.S. had gotten revenge for their 1-0 loss two days earlier when Mykell Bates headed in Jared Jeffrey's free kick in the 93rd minute, but the goal was called back for offsides.

The U.S. outshot Honduras, 10-6, but both teams put four on target.

The U.S. will travel to Guatemala tomorrow for the final five days of their trip. The U-17s will play two matches against local club teams, facing the Municipal Reserves on Wednesday, March 14 and Comunicaciones Reserves on Friday, March 16.

U-17 MNT Fall to Honduras

TEGUCIGALPA, Honduras (March 10, 2007) - The U.S. Under-17 '90 Men's National Team fell to Honduras, 1-0, this afternoon in Tegucigalpa, Honduras, during the first of two international games they will play during their 10-day trip in Central America.

Gustavo Carias scored the game-winning goal in the 31st minute when he one-timed a pass from Gabriel Castro past U.S. goalkeeper Josh Lambo.

Despite letting in the goal, Lambo was the Sierra Mist Man of the Match as he came up with four more big saves to keep the U.S. in the game. The U.S. had four shots on goal, but couldn't put one past the Honduras 'keeper.
