Under-17s: Barbir debuted for the U-17 MNT during the 2013 Nike International Friendlies, starting in the final two matches against England and Brazil as the USA earned the title. In 2014, Barbir started in seven of 14 games played, logging 832 minutes and recording an assist. Barbir is a dual citizen, with his father being born in Romania.
Barbir was a member of Players Development Academy, where he represented the U-15/16 team during the 2012-13 Development Academy season.  He scored 11 goals in 22 games to help PDA win the Atlantic Division. Barbir trained regularly with a variety of European clubs, most notably Manchester City in early 2014. In May of 2014, Barbir joined West Bromwich Albion’s youth system, where he currently plays with the hopes of progressing to the Premier League side’s first team.
