The towering central midfielder is a product of the U.S. Soccer Development Academy, having first suited up for Texans SC of Houston before signing on with FC Dallas. After being prevented from signing a Homegrown deal with Dallas by MLS, Cappis sought opportunities abroad in 2018 and landed with Hobro of the Danish SuperLiga. While it took some time for him to break into the first team, Cappis has appeared in 19 of the club’s 20 games so far this season.
Internationally, Cappis made a late push to be part of last summer’s U-20 World Cup squad by scoring in each of his appearances during two March 2019 friendlies, ultimately missing out on going to Poland.
