After the rousing and emotional run to the gold medal at the 2008 Olympics, the U.S. Women’s National Team resumes its Achieve Your Gold Tour with the second of three matches against Korea Republic Wednesday evening in Cincinnati. The U.S. won the first three games of the tour over Ireland, and began this leg with a gritty 3-1 win over South Korea. Kickoff for Wednesday’s game against South Korea is set for 7:30 p.m. ET from Paul Brown Stadium. Fans can follow along live at ussoccer.com’s MatchTracker.

U.S. Women Down New Zealand, 6-0, in Front of Largest Crowd of 2004

CINCINNATI, Ohio (October 10, 2004) - The U.S. Women's National Team dominated New Zealand for the second straight match to record a 6-0 win, as six different players figured in the scoring in front of 18,806 appreciative fans on a gorgeous day at Paul Brown Stadium, home of the NFL's Cincinnati Bengals. It was the largest crowd to watch the U.S. women in 2004, besting the previous high of 17,805 that saw a 3-0 win over Mexico in Albuquerque, N.M. It also became the highest-attended match on the "Fan Celebration Tour," improving on the mark of 16,554 fans that were at PGE Park on Oct. 3 to watch the U.S. down the Kiwis last weekend. The game also marked the return to the hometown of U.S. defender Heather Mitts, who played all 90 minutes at right back.

Mitts To Make Homecoming at U.S. WNT Set for Sunday Match vs. New Zealand

Fresh of the historic and dramatic gold medal run at the 2004 Olympics in Athens, Greece, the U.S. Women's National Soccer Team plays its fourth game of the 10-game "Fan Celebration Tour" against New Zealand on Sunday, Oct. 10 at Paul Brown Stadium (Kickoff 4 p.m. ET). Fans can follow all the action on ussoccer.com's MatchTracker, presented by Philips Electronics. U.S. defender Heather Mitts will play in her hometown of Cincinnati, Ohio, with the U.S. National Team for the first time. Mitts, one of the least experienced players on the 2004 Olympic Team, has just 26 caps, but 2004 was a breakout year for the speedy and feisty defender out of the University of Florida.
