COLUMBUS, Ohio (Saturday, Sept. 27, 2003) - After a quick flight from Philadelphia to Columbus yesterday, the U.S. Women's World Cup Team had its first practice at Crew Stadium this morning as it looks to advance into the quarterfinals with a win or tie against North Korea tomorrow. The U.S. sits atop Group A with six points after victories over Sweden and Nigeria. Kickoff against North Korea is at 3:45 ET at Crew Stadium and will be televised live on ABC and Telefutura. CHICAGO (Thursday, June 19, 2003) — North Korea defeated Japan, 3-0, in the first semifinal of the 14th Asian Women’s Championship earlier today in Bangkok, Thailand, thereby earning one of Asia’s two berths to this fall’s Women’s World Cup in the United States. North Korea becomes the 14th team to qualify for the 4th FIFA Women’s World Cup.
