Through 90 minutes of regulation and 30 minutes of overtime, it was Sporting Kansas City that prevailed with a 3-2 shootout victory against three-time defending U.S. Open Cup champion Seattle Sounders FC on Wednesday in front of a crowd of 18,873 at LIVESTRONG Sporting Park.
