Three to Germany

After choosing the U.S. roster for the 2011 FIFA Women’s World Cup, U.S. head coach Pia Sundhage had three matches – two of which have already been played – to put the final touches on her squad. Many decisions still needed to be made on personnel, lineups, formations and tactical focus, all geared towards preparing the team as best as possible to perform on women’s soccer grandest stage. To many, this would be a mentally fatiguing process. Sundhage calls it “fun.”
