U.S. Moves Up to Eight in FIFA Rankings; Highest Ever Ranking for U.S.

ZURICH, Switzerland (Sept. 19, 2002) - Just one month after entering the Top 10 for the first time in team history at the number nine spot, the U.S. Men’s National Team continued its climb in the FIFA World Rankings by moving up one notch to an all-time high eighth, ahead of such powerhouses as Italy and England. Turkey moved up four spots to find itself in the Top 10 for the first time at seventh.
