U.S. Defeats Germany 1-0 in Augsburg, Germany

The U.S. Women's National Team came out 1-0 victors in a clash of the No. 1 and No. 2 FIFA ranked women's teams in the world. The Americans held a potent German attack scoreless for the duration of the match before a sell-out crowd at the Impuls Arena in Augsburg, Germany. Abby Wambach scored the lone goal in the 34th minute with a header from the middle of the box.
