When U.S. defender Ali Krieger left Germany – and FFC Frankfurt, her club of four years – last spring to pursue her goals of making the U.S. Women’s World Cup Team and helping the USA qualify for the 2012 Olympics, she didn’t know when or if she would ever return to live in her adopted homeland again. As it turns out, her time away was just long enough to become a breakout star at the World Cup, gain unprecedented fame for an American female player in Europe and succumb to a bad case of reverse homesickness.
