YNT Dec 23, 2011
Best of U.S. Soccer has returned, with voting in 11 categories beginning today on U.S. Soccer's Facebook page. There are some Youth National Teams and players sprinkled throughout the ballot, which asks fans to select their favorites from the year in 2011. There's also a category devoted to the Development Academy. Best Performance: Academy rewards the current or former Development Academy player who has made an impact on their team this year. The different candidates range from players who have had success with their professional clubs (Josh Gatt) to players making inroads with national teams (Jack McBean, Juan Agudelo and Kelyn Rowe), to players just beginning their professional careers (Villyan Bijev, Zach Pfeffer, Diego Fagundez), and a player still making a major impact with a current Development Academy team (Kekuta Manneh). Congrats to all these players for being nominated in the category and make sure you vote often in this year's Best of U.S. Soccer Awards!
