The U.S. U-17 Women's National Team won the CONCACAF U-17 Women's Championship today, but it was anything but easy. The USA rode a 21st minute goal from forward Amber Munerlyn and then held off a determined Canadian side with some inspired defending to claim the Confederation title.
That gives the USA all three CONCACAF women's titles in 2012 on the heels of the full U.S. Women's National Team winning the Olympic Qualifying Tournament in January (4-0 over Canada) and the U.S. Under-20s winning their World Cup Qualifying Tournament in March (2-1 over Canada).
The USA won all five games in this tournament in Guatemala, scoring 26 goals and allowing none. Here are some images from the evening...
