Lori Lindsey shares a laugh with Kristine Lilly and fitness coach Dawn Scott after the Philly Independence midfielder arrived in camp yesterday
With the arrival of Amy Rodriguez and Lori Lindsey yesterday, and WPS champs Rachel Buehler and Shannon Boxx today, the USA finally has all 30 players on the roster in camp. The irony is that six will be heading home on Sunday, the day after the first China match, as U.S. head coach Pia Sundhage will bring just 24 to Philadelphia for the second leg of the series. Buehler got into camp in time for stadium training this morning, but Shannon Boxx arrived in the afternoon and will likely start against China without participating in a training session during camp. But at age 33, with 127 caps under her belt, 1,705 minutes played in WPS this season, and a winning WPS title just five days ago, we think she'll be fine.
Amy Rodriguez gets a big hug from Lindsay Tarpley after the speedy forward made her first appearance at camp during the USA's weight training session yesterday. A-Rod is a world-class striker, and hugger.
