Megan Rapinoe and Lori Lindsey battle for a ball on the sideline
The first full day for the U.S. WNT in Cancun was a busy one, consisting of a morning on-field training and afternoon weights, meaning the players didn't get much chance to enjoy the scenery, although there were some brief dips in the ocean. The problem is that sea is actually quite warm, so the players will get their post-practice "ice baths" in the pools (or small tubs filled with ice, which while painful, are great for the legs). The USA's training field this morning was a fairly new artificial turf surface, but it was also covered with more ground up rubber than anyone has evern seen on a turf field before, meaning the players shoes were filled with the pellets by the end of training.
Core work: Very important for a soccer player
Meanwhile, the male staff for the WNT debuted the (relatively) new MNT training gear for the first time and all reviews of the garments were positive.
