WNT Nov 26, 2010
With all the U.S. WNT players away from their families this Thanksgiving, the team enjoyed dinner with their second family...each other. Of course, the players spend more time with each other on the road than they do with most of their family anyway so perhaps the dinner was appropriate. It certainly was impressive, as the entire team descended on the home of one of the sisters of U.S. general manager Cheryl Bailey and collaborated to make a wonderful feast.
We knew Heather O'Reilly does some good work on the right flank...turns out she's quality in the kitchen as well
In something worthy of a Food Network challenge, the players used teamwork (and just two ovens) to prepare a meal for 35+ in under two hours (the turkeys were already cooking when the squad arrived). The players relaxed, stuffed themselves silly, watched football and generally had a great Thanksgiving. Of course, they all of much to be thankful for, including the chance to earn a berth to the Women's World Cup this Saturday.
