WNT Jul 22, 2012
Sunday was indeed a day of rest for the WNT as U.S. head coach Pia Sundhage gave the team the day off from training and meetings. This will be the last true day off for the team during the Olympics as the games come fast and furious once they start on July 25.
The U.S. team has been in England for two weeks, so the bulk of the work is done. The players did plenty of resting today, along with some shopping, some strolling, some quality self-maintenance and some eating of good food at local area restaurants.
The team will train on Monday morning abnd then see the inside of Hampden Park on Monday afternoon during its official walk-through of the venue that will host the Americans' first two games of the tournament. The team will also train Tuesday morning, and then all the pre-Olympic work will be in the books.
Kickoff for USA-France on Wed. is at 5 p.m. local as all 12 teams in the women's tournament start play.
