The U.S. team departed its base camp outside of Pretoria this morning around 11 a.m. and made the easy two-hour drive back to the Bakubung Lodge, which sits in the Pilanesburg National Park. It's the same hotel where the USA stayed during its victory over Egypt at last summer's Confederations Cup and for its 1-1 tie with England in the first match of this World Cup. The team had training this afternoon (although not at Royal Bafokeng Stadium where the match will be held) and then will hunker down to get some good sleep before the huge match tomorrow. As you may recall, the U.S. team has some "elephant" issues last time here, as a huge beast blocked the road on two occasions when the team was trying to depart the grounds, but there have been no pacaderm sightings thus far, just a few antelopes and a heck of a lot of exotic looking birds.
