WNT Sep 17, 2011
The U.S. WNT held its pre-game training at LIVESTRONG Sporting Park yesterday in front of about 1,500 fans. The fans seem to enjoy the open training, as did the players, who signed autographs for a bit after the session. Abby Wambach spoke to the crowd after the practice, thanked them for coming and told them she'd see them tonight vs. Canada! There were a few nice goals that drew oohs and ahhs from the crowd, as well as a few good collisions, which he fans also seemed to enjoy. After all, who doesn't enjoy a good tackle?
The U.S. team had a special visitor at training, Kori Quinn, who has fought an inspirational and amazing battle with cancer over the past few years. She got to meet the team after training and hang out a little with the players, who truth be told, might have been more inspired by her than she is by them.
