Due to the release of previously reserved blocks of tickets, the finalizing of stadium layout plans, and returns from previous sales phases, additional tickets are now available to purchase for the 2011 FIFA Women's World Cup in Germany. The total number of match tickets on general sale has been increased from 800,000 to 900,000. More than 620,000 tickets have been sold so far, or approximately 70 per cent of the total available for general sale.
With exactly a month to go until the tournament, the restructuring of the previously reserved blocks means tickets are also back on sale for the most sought-after matches, including some 2,000 tickets for the opening match at the Berlin Olympic stadium between Germany and Canada on June 26, 3,000 for the Final in Frankfurt, and 4,000 for the semi-final on the same ground. Other smaller blocks of tickets are also available again for previously sold-out matches such as Germany's group matches and the games in Sinsheim. The newly-released tickets go on sale today, May 26, 2011, and may be purchased online at http://www.fifa.com/womensworldcup/index.html, or via the ticketing hotline: +49 1805 / 06 2011.
