Training on the grounds of Eintracht Frankfurt brought back memories for two members of the squad heading to Russia.
Jermaine Jones spent the majority of his formative years with Die Adler (Eagles), beginning as an Academy player. He joined the first team in 2001 and stayed for seven seasons, minus a six-month spell at Bayer Leverkusen. His connection to the club was cemented even further when the club helped nurse him through a severe leg injury in 2005, and he returned to action in full force and eventually became captain. Jones eventually left in 2007 for Schalke.
Meantime, a young Timmy Chandler also got his start in the reserve team at Frankfurt from 2008-10. The athletic left back didn't fit into the coach's plans and was shipped to Nuremburg where he is now a fixture in the first team.
