When U.S. head coach Jurgen Klinsmann announced the 23-man roster, several members of the U.S. delegation will recall fond memories of their time in the Mile High City.
- Herculez Gomez scored the first goal in the history of Dick's Sporting Goods Park in his first game for Colorado, a 2-1 win against D.C. United on April 7, 2007
- Clarence Goodson earned his first cap for the U.S. Men's National Team in the 2-0 win against Guatemala on Nov. 19, 2008, in the USA's last group game of the Semifinal Round of World Cup qualifying for the 2010 FIFA World Cup.
- The man in goal that day was Brad Guzan, who picked up his third shutout of the qualifying campaign.
- U.S. goalkeeper coach and former England international Chris Woods signed on to the roster of the inaugural Colorado Rapids in 1996.
