Yesterday we highlighted the opportunity ahead of the trio of MNT regulars who play for Seattle Sounders in advance of their Playoff Knockout Round against Colorado. Last night, they demonstrated why the words "MNT regulars" belong in front of their name.
Sounders captain Brad Evans unloaded a volley in the 28th minute that put Seattle ahead for good, then the forward combo of Eddie Johnson and Clint Dempsey combined to seal the 2-0 victory. The U.S. captain sliced a pass into Johnson, and EJ did the rest by slipping past his defender and beating the Rapids 'keeper to the near post.
Seattle move on to the Western Conference Semifinal to face Cascadia rivals Portland Timbers.
