Clint Dempsey and Terrence Boyd were at it again this week, continuing to light the lamp for Spurs and Rapid Vienna, respectively.
Dempsey's effort on the second goal in the 3-1 win for Spurs on Thursday against Panathinaikos was eventually ruled an own goal, but most importantly it helped push Tottenham into the knockout phase of the Europa League. Then on Sunday, he put Spurs ahead of Everton after his shot from distance deflected over U.S. teammate Tim Howard. Everton rallied with two goals in the final three minutes for a 2-1 win.
In Austria, Terrence Boyd scored in his third straight for Rapid Vienna, potting the game-winner in the 2-1 win against Wacker Tiriol. Boyd has nine league goals and 13 in all competitions.
