WNT Jul 24, 2012
As the U.S. WNT training was ending today (it's the last training before the Olympics, BTW!), apparently the Spain men's team training was starting on the adjacent field. Well, it became apparent that it was when a few players stuck their head over the fence to see what was happening on the USA's field.
The U.S. and Spanish players exchanged a few words, but the quickness of the conversation and the language barrier was too much to overcome, as was a Spain coach apparently telling his guys to get down off the benches and start warming up.
The U.S. players wanted to stay and watch a bit of Spain training, but alas, it was closed and they had to get back to the hotel for lunch anyway.
Still, perhaps the players made a few new fans. We imagine the USA players will be cheering on the Spaniards in their match against Japan at Hampden Park on July 26. That should be a good one. LOTS of skill on that field on Thursday for sure.
