You think those kids wanted Abby's autograph? They got it...
The U.S. WNT arrived in Portland tonight at around 7:30 p.m. after a brief delay in their flight from Kansas City and received a rousing greeting from a few teams worth of young soccer players, who came out strong with signs, baloons, painted faces and quote a few things to autographs (including faces...see below).
The U.S. team obliged with plenty of signatures and photos and we're going to bet that the youngsters have not had that much fun on a school night in a while. So thanks Portland for the great reception and we'll see everyone on Wednesday at the open training at JELD-WEN Field at Noon and/or at the match on Thursday night at 8 p.m. Only obstructed view seats are still available in what could be a sell-out.
This young lady correctly identifies her favorite player. The WNT Blog loves good signs.
WNT Blog to young fan: "Are you sure your mom said it was ok for Abby to sign your head?"
Young fan: "I didn't ask my mom...but my dad said "you better get her to sign your head!"
In the world of the WNT Blog, that's what we call...good parenting.
