WNT Nov 8, 2011
The U.S. WNT has arrived in Arizona and had its first training on Monday evening. It was a short practice as the players were just off planes, and as night fell in the chilly desert of Scottsdale, the U.S. team took its first (sort of) offical step towards the 2012 London Olympics.
The squad looked refreshed and sharp despite the long break with the World Cup in the rearview and everyone refocused on Olympic qualifying in January. The arrival in Arizona is a homecoming of sorts for Amy LePeilbet, a former star at Arizona State who came from Chicago to warmer climes to play her college soccer, which would lead her to a consistent spot on the U.S. U-21 WNT and then to the senior side.
