The Champions Leagues of UEFA and CONCACAF are back in action this week, along with Europa League, which means plenty of action for Jurgen Klinsmann's men.
Michael Parkhurst kicks off the action Tuesday as FC Nordsjaelland welcome Italian league leaders Juventus (2:45 p.m., DirecTV, foxsoccer2go), with both teams in search of their first win in the group stage. Tuesday night is a big one for Kyle Beckerman and Real Salt Lake, who host Herediano (10 p.m., FOX Soccer) needing a win and the right scoreline to advance to the knockout stage.
Wednesday starts with Sacha Kljestan and Anderlecht heading north to face Zenit St. Petersburg (12 p.m., FOX Soccer), where he will get a glimpse of several players who will likely feature in the USA's friendly against Russia next month. Jermaine Jones heads to the Emirates where Schalke takes on Arsenal (2:45 p.m., foxsoccer2go) in a meeting of the top two teams in the group. Herculez Gomez and Santos Laguna will like their chances to move on to the quarterfinals when they take on Toronto FC (8 p.m. FOX Soccer, Univision Deportes), needing only a draw to guarantee advancement. Even a loss would still leave Toronto needing to make up ground in the goal department.
Europa League has Thursday all to itself. Steve Cherundolo has captained Hannover to the early lead in Group L as they travel to Helsinborg where he could square off against former Rangers man Alejandro Bedoya (1 p.m., foxsoccer2go). Terrence Boyd and Rapid Vienna look to climb out of the cellar against Bayer Leverkusen (1 p.m. foxsoccer2go). Clint Dempsey and Tottenham are a part of a hotly contested Group J, and go to Maribor in search of their first win (1 p.m., FOX Soccer). U-23 midfielder Josh Gatt and Molde run up against at Steau Bucarest team that is unbeaten in its last five matches in Europa League.
