The Austrian Federation has published the list of 24 players selected by head coach Marcel Koller for the Nov. 19 friendly against the United States. The Austrians finished in third place in Group C of UEFA qualifying for the 2014 FIFA World Cup, behind Germany and Sweden.
Once again, MNT connections abound on the roster. Christian Fuchs, the second-most capped player on the roster, is a defender at Schalke with Jermaine Jones. In the midfield, Marko Arnautovic plays alongside Geoff Cameron at Stoke, while Marcel Sabitzer and Terrence Boyd are teammates at Rapid Vienna. While Tim Howard faces an Everton striker for USA-Scotland, Brad Guzan will see a familiar face in striker Andreas Weimann from Aston Villa.
As part of a thank you to fans for a record-setting year in attendance for home matches, the Austrian Federation is discounting tickets for the match at Ernst-Happel-Stadium.
