Tobin Heath works on some strengthening with U.S. trainer Greg Banks
U.S. midfielder Tobin Heath has overcome some serious illness and injury over the past year that temporarily derailed her promising career. The ultra-skillful flank player is now back on the field with the U.S. team, slowly working her way back into form. She hasn't trained full out with the U.S. team yet, but is doing some slow and steady (i.e., being smart and not rushing) conditioning to get her body back to where she can compete in the ultra-competitive WNT trainings. Truth be told, she hasn't really hasn't been 100% for about a year. We caught up with Heath on this ussoccer.com podcast to get an update on her progress, her season as the #1 fan of the Atlanta Beat and how she is happy to just be kicking the ball around again.
We did ask for some questions for Tobin via our Twitter account, but we didn't get to them on the podcast, so we thought we answer a few here:
Are there any more awesome Tobin juggling videos we can look forward to anytime soon?
Editor's note: She's tell us she's working on something, but won't reveal what. When she's ready, we'll bring it to you via all_access video. Keep in mind its VERY difficult to match Ball Trick Battle and WALKABOUT (which was the ussoccer.com Video of the Year, by the way).
Ask Tobin what she thinks about UNC's football chances this year?
Tobin: "Not good since all the controversy hit. Might be a good to go to the women's soccer games."
Ask Tobin all about her roommate!
Editor's Note: C'mon Yael, that's cheating. You can ask her questions anytime. But still, we asked Tobin for an answer.
"Yael is the Best roommate EVER! I am totally not biased."
What's Tobin's favorite place to be in the off season?
"Anywhere near the ocean."
